My first trip to newfoundland to hunt with off the grid adventures. I was greeted by Sonya and Barry at the hotel where i was escorted to the float plane. We took a 30-minute flight to an absolutely beautiful hunting paradise. I was greeted by some of the nicest and friendly guides and cook. Once I was settled into my room lunch was served and i was able to meet Rex my guide for the week. Later that evening we ensured the rifle was sighted in for the next morning’s hunt.
Day 1 we took a short boat ride across the lake where we encountered 3 moose but a little to far away. Day 2 was really windy and raining but on day 3 the weather was perfect and by 9am Rex had called in a beautiful newfoundland moose to within 150 yards. Rex and Lyndon were amazing with their knowledge on getting an animal that size 6 km back to camp to prepare for processing. I highly recommend Off the Grid Adventures, when you leave you feel like part of the family not just a client.
