We are a remote fly in outfitting camp located in Moose Management Area (MMA) 39A on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada. Our hunting allocation consists of 53 Moose licenses and 10 Black Bear. Although under new ownership in 2019, the camp has a history of successful and satisfied clients. The nearest town is Roddickton, NL. Due to the density of the moose population in the area Roddickton is known as the “Moose Capital of the world”. Newfoundland in itself is known for some of the best big game hunting east of Alaska. Moose hunting season begins the second week of September in NL and Off the Grid Adventures will operate for 5 to 6 weeks following that date. The hunting experience will run from Sunday to Sunday. The remote location of the lodge means there is little hunting pressure on bears or moose in the area.
Dunn Hill Lodge is fly in only and is located on a pond surrounded by beautiful tundra type country. With a mix of rolling hills and wooded valleys, it’s a fantastic area for hunting moose and bear. The lodge is a 20 to 30 minute flight by float plane from Hawkes Bay, NL. The fly in service will be provided by the same pilot (who has many years of flying experience) used by the previous allocation owner. He is located in Hawkes Bay, where the hunters will fly in on a Beaver float plane that can accommodate 4 passengers per flight plus cargo. This flight will give you unforgettable views of nature and of the long range mountains.
While we do offer that “off the grid adventure” there are also the amenities of generated electricity, hot/cold running water, wood heat and most importantly quality home cooked meals and desserts. At Off the Grid Adventures our main focus will be to provide a quality, positive, successful, personal and memorable hunting experience.
