What is the weather and temperatures like in Newfoundland in the Fall?2023-04-21T18:04:55-02:30

Can I answer “your guess is as good as mine?” If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute. You could see all 4 seasons in one day in Newfoundland. The average temperature is 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, but quite often we can see below zero and above 20. Most days there is wind. Rain and Fog are common, as are blue skies and sunshine.

What happens if the weather delays the flight into camp?2023-04-21T18:05:37-02:30

Our hunts run from Sunday to Sunday, so when one group of hunters fly in, the group that is in there flies out. Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather and that is one of the downfalls of a fly-in hunt… So, if the flight in is delayed by a day or two, the hunters in camp have to hang tight and those waiting to go have to be patient… and the next changeover is scheduled for the following Sunday. *Any costs incurred due to weather delays are the responsibility of the hunter.

The form can be found at https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/non-residents There is a small fee associated with this form and one important thing to remember is that you must wait to sign the form at the border in the presence of a border agent.

We try to match hunters with their guide based on ability and it is not always necessary to walk a far distance, although, your chances of success can increase if you have the ability to walk a further distance. We have ATV’s that we use to retrieve the animal once harvested. Normally, we don’t have to backpack meat.
